Visiting Us
The museum is open every Sunday between 10:30 and 16:00. Admission is free. Dogs are welcome in most areas of the museum.
School and group visits by arrangement. See below.
Engine Running Times
We now run our Marshall steam engines and a selection of stationary engines every Sunday. The Marshall engines run at the following times:
- 1st engine run: 12:00 PM
- 2nd engine run: 2:00 PM

Getting There
The museum is a 7-minute walk from St. James Street Station (Overground) and a 15-minute walk from Blackhorse Road Station (Victoria Line). Lea Bridge Road Station (Greater Anglia) is a 10-minute walk away.
The W19 bus from Walthamstow Bus Station towards Argall Avenue runs every half hour. The museum is adjacent to the 'Barn Croft Primary School' stop.
Free weekend car parking is available nearby on South Access Road and Essex Road.
Schools and Community Groups
School and group visits are welcome during the week by prior arrangement. A tour of the museum will also be given. Visiting on odd days is also possible if you are unable to visit us on a Sunday. Please contact us to arrange a visit.
